Edinburgh based, sports massage therapist,Caroline Williams opened “The Good Therapist” (formerly "the massage place") in 2008.
After years spent working in the world of adventure travel, Caroline re-trained to become a therapist. Her first qualification was a Diploma in Personal fitness training and sports massage in 2003, followed by a Diploma in Reflexology in 2006. In 2007 she completed a second Diploma in sports massage allowing her to become one of only a few full members of the sports massage association based in Scotland. In 2009 she became a Bowen Therapist and if she's not in the clinic, she's probably attending a Bowen workshop as she believes Bowen is the future of healthcare! She still leads the occasional trip abroad for charity groups, but apart from that loves living and working in Edinburgh. Caroline also has a clinic at the Heriot -Watt centre for sport and exercise.
Caroline has a great deal of experience in working with people living with conditions such as ME, Parkinsons, anxiety & depression and Cancer. If you have any questions about treatments please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a chat.
Caroline has worked with people involved in sports at every level, including the Scottish women’s rugby team, and has worked at many events such as the University swimming championships, the Caledonian challenge & the Homeless world cup.
This year she took up running and ran in the GB Trans Britain (156 miles in 6 days). As a result she is now much more empathetic with clients aches and pains and will do her best to get you up and back to your sport as soon as possible. An important part of her own training involves recieving regular Bowen and massage treatments - ie. she practises what she preaches!
